Math and music can be taught together
I just posted this article under the "links" at the top of this web site. I am a firm believe that the maths and music go hand in hand. (And, my little brother proves my theory perfectly: a few years ago, he finished his doctoral thesis, titled "The mathematics of Ravel". He based his thesis on the golden proportion and showed its repetition throughout French musician Ravel's music.)

CRT scores
All students who have been to school this week have received their "raw" CRT scores. (This test has been recorded in your grade under the "participation points" section- this was the only way that I had to put your exact score into your grade.)
Before taking the test last week, I "encouraged" students (and, hoped to motivate them) to do their very best: if they scored in the 80s, I promised to buy them one giant candy bar; if they scored in the 90s, I promised to buy them two of the giant bars; and, if they were the high score (out of periods 2,3,4 and periods 5,6,7), I would buy them multiple bars. In all, I will be purchasing and giving ninety giant candy bars to students for how well they did. Congratulations on doing so well!

"Stretch breaks", P.E. will help what?!?
I just finished reading this very interesting article. It suggests that one way to improve student performance is to have early morning rigorous physical education. (This is one of the reasons why I encourage you to get up and do something physical during our stretch breaks- push-ups, walking around the room, jumping jacks, etc.- because the exercise helps gets oxygen to the blood and helps you think and process better.)
